Jim Nichols, P.E.

Chairman Emeritus

Jim Nichols’ career with Freese and Nichols began during his high school summers as a rodman on survey crews and continues to the present as Chairman Emeritus. Honored locally and nationally for both his professional accomplishments and civic activities, Jim currently consults with clients, leads executive client visits, teaches classes around the state on professional ethics for Freese and Nichols University and consults with project teams.

A graduate of Texas A&M University with a masters degree in civil engineering, Jim was named an honorary member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the organization’s highest honor. He was appointed to the Texas Board of Professional Engineers by Governor George Bush and later named chairman by Governor Rick Perry. His civic leadership includes chairing the Boards of Directors for All Saints Episcopal Hospital (Now Baylor All Saints), the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Tarrant County.
