Freese and Nichols Names New Principals and Associates
1 May, 2010Freese and Nichols board of directors elected three new principals and six new associates. The new principals are Robert Chambers, Ron Guzman, P.E. and Mike Wayts, P.E.; the new associates are Kelly Dillard, P.E., Dan Gise, P.E., Eddie Haas, AICP, Nick Lester, P.E., Scott Maughn, P.E. and Jeff Payne, P.E.
Robert Chambers joined Freese and Nichols in 1994 in the Environmental Science Group. Robert has been instrumental in both environmental science projects as well as the Military/Government CCM. He became an associate of the firm in 2001. Roberts received his B.A. in Geography and M.S. in Environment Science from the University of North Texas and is licensed by the Board of Professional Geoscientists.
Ron Guzman, P.E. joined Freese and Nichols in 2007 as an Associate and Manager of the Corpus Christi office. He came to the firm with a strong managerial background and relationships with clients in South Texas. Since opening the Corpus Christi office in 2007, the office has grown to a staff of 10 with several more joining the office over the next few months. The office has become the Trusted Advisor to the City of Corpus Christi as well as other clients in the area. Ron received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Mike Wayts, P.E. joined Freese and Nichols in 1996 while a student at The University of Texas at Arlington. He was elected an Associate of the firm in 2005. Mike has focused his career in Stormwater Management and became Group Manager of that group in 2007. Mike received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington and is a Certified Floodplain Manager.
Kelly Dillard, P.E. joined Freese and Nichols in 2007 and currently manages the Fort Worth Stormwater Management Group. She has over 20 years of expertise in consulting engineering concentrating in the field of hydraulics and hydrology. She received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Dan Gise joined the company in 2008 and currently manages the Environmental staff in the Southeast Region. Dan brought more than 30 years of experience to Freese and Nichols in the environmental field. He received his B.S. in Biology/Forestry and his M.S. in Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Eddie Haas, AICP joined Freese and Nichols in 2007 bringing with him 18 years of specialized experience. He is a Senior Planner specializing in comprehensive urban and transportation plans. He is a key leader in Dallas’ planning group, managing projects and assisting with group management. Eddie received his B.S. in Construction Science and his Masters of Urban Planning from Texas A&M University.
Nick Lester, P.E. joined Freese and Nichols upon his graduation with his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2001. Nick is a Project Manager in the Pump Station and Pipeline discipline of the Water Resources Group in Fort Worth. Nick manages large design projects and had a two year assignment on a pump station and pipeline construction project.
Scott Maughn, P.E. has worked for Freese and Nichols for over ten years beginning his career as a Co-op student. Scott is a Project Manager in the Dallas office in the W/WW Transmission and Utilities Group designing wastewater pipeline and utility projects. Scott received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington.
Jeff Payne, P.E. joined Freese and Nichols in 2005 and provides day-to-day management and leadership for our McKinney office as part of the W/WW Transmission and Utilities Group as well as project management roles in the utilities, transportation, and military sectors. Prior to joining FNI, Jeff had twelve years of experience including his service as a civil engineer in the United States Air Force where he served two tours in Iraq. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy and his M.S. in Engineering and Environmental Management from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology.
