Freese and Nichols Professionals Join Committees for the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure

1 December, 2011

Four Freese and Nichols employees will serve on committees as part of the firm’s charter membership in the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI). Freese and Nichols became a charter member of ISI in the Fall of 2011.

Alan Greer, P.E., will serve on the Public Affairs Committee, which is responsible for public testimony, general speaking engagements, serving as an intergovernmental liaison, managing media contacts and relations with other nonprofit organizations, and organizing the Executive Forum for the Sustainable Infrastructure series.

Tricia Hatley, P.E., LEED AP, will help with the Recognition Committee, which develops and oversees establishment of awards and criteria of eligibility, management of the awards and application process, and coordination of the awards ceremonies associated with recognizing individual projects as qualifying sustainable infrastructure within the parameters of the ISI rating tool.

Alan Hutson, P.E., will be a member of the Technical Committee, which is responsible for design, content, development and continuous improvement of the ISI rating tool. This committee is in the process of deciding what organization works best for dealing with the technical issues associated with decisions about the tool, its criteria, its resources, its philosophy and application in the marketplace.

Mike Wilkins, P.E., LEED AP, will be involved with the Education and Training Committee, which designs, produces and delivers educational and training products for members, the general public and public officials to include in webinars, educational modules, conference sessions and symposia. The committee will also  produce education and training programs for the accreditation and project verifier function on behalf of the Accreditation Committee.

The ISI was founded in February 2011 through a joint effort by the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Public Works Association and American Council of Engineering Companies. Its mission is to develop, maintain and support a civil infrastructure rating system called EnvisionTM that will measure the sustainability of infrastructure projects.
