Freese and Nichols at TML 2011

Freese and Nichols CFO Cindy Milrany, CPA will moderate a TML panel addressing the benefits to municipalities of implementing continuous improvement processes from the perspective of two municipalities that have won state and national performance excellence awards. With municipalities trying to do more with less, the speakers will highlight several critical areas that cities can focus on to enhance quality performance and service delivery as well as achieve significant efficiencies and results.

Additional panelists include Tommy Gonzalez, City Manager of the City of Irving (the first municipality in Texas to receive the Texas Award for Performance Excellence through the Texas Quality Foundation), and Michael Levinson, Former City Manager of the City of Coral Springs, Florida (the first municipality in the U.S. to receive the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award).

Ms. Milrany will moderate a discussion/presentation that will highlight the two cities’ performance excellence journeys and the benefits they have gained. The speakers will spotlight best practices in core areas of city management, including leadership, strategic planning, constituent/community relations, measurement and data, workforce development, process improvement and achievement of superior results. In particular, they will present case studies of specific processes they implemented that led to tangible results.
