The Aledo Strategic Plan provides a planning tool to stimulate economic development, manage growth and promote Aledo’s character. Community participation during the process included a web-based survey, City of Aledo City meetings, a focus group meeting and two town hall meetings. Public input crafted a new vision statement and formed the basis for Freese and Nichols' recommendations.
The Strategic Plan provides goals and strategies addressing transportation, economic development, downtown, neighborhoods, community identity and quality of life. Along with supporting graphics of signage, gateway features and a downtown plan, the Strategic Plan contains an implementation matrix identifying timelines, funding resources and partners to oversee action items.
