Freese and Nichols provided a District-Wide Campus Master Plan for five campuses for South Texas College (STC). STC covers a two-county region along the United States and Mexico border. STC has experienced unprecedented growth and has reach capacity at two of its five campuses. A detail study of demographics, enrollment projections, capture rates, utilization, and capacity analysis were conducted.
One of the key purposes for the District-wide Campus Master Plan was to establish the scope of capital improvement work necessary for a future bond election. The scope included new and renovated facilities, planning for a sixth campus, detailed cost estimates, conceptual plans, 3D renderings, marketing materials and 3D animations of campus improvements. Following the master plan, Freese and Nichols was selected to assist in the design of a new classroom building on STC’s Pecan Campus.
