Campus Master Plan Integrates Design Charettes, 3D Renderings
2011
Freese and Nichols developed a master plan for South Texas College. The plan includes new and renovated facilities totaling 498,500 square feet spanning three phases with a total construction cost of $134.5 million.
The plan also includes options for a sixth campus, detailed cost estimates, conceptual plans, 3D renderings and a computer-animated build-out of campus improvements. To help stakeholders visualize and brainstorm the location of new facilities, the team hosted a charette workshop. The focus was to determine the square footage and location of future facilities. After the successful workshop, Freese and Nichols moved forward with detailed recommendations for prospective campus development.
