Engineering Excellence Gold Award
American Council of Engineering Companies of Texas
The Phyllis J. Tilley Memorial Pedestrian Bridge won a Gold Medal in the Structural Systems Category in the 2013 Engineering Excellence Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Texas.
The bridge, which spans the Trinity River near downtown Fort Worth, opened in August. It is the first arch-supported stress ribbon bridge in the United States and is designed to withstand a 500-year flood.
