Municipal Excellence Award in the category of Public Works, Cities Under 25,000
Texas Municipal League
The Aledo Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion was honored with the 2013 Municipal Excellence Award in the category of Public Works, Cities Under 25,000, by the Texas Muncipal League.
The project expanded Aledo's wastewater treatment plant under challenging site conditions — a flood plain on one side and a steep bluff beneath an affluent neighborhood on the other — and finished on time and $600,000 under budget. It is also the first treatment plant in Texas to use a microwave-powered ultraviolet disinfection system.
