Texas Environmental Excellence Award

Texas Commission on Environmental Quality

The Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Dallas has received the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's Texas Environmental Excellence Award for the Magnolia Inlet Restoration in the Civic/Community category.

This project brought together a broad coalition of partners to restore an area critical to the town of Indianola on the Texas Gulf Coast. A coalition of citizens, landowners, federal and state agencies, nonprofit groups, consultants and educational institutions, led by researchers with Texas A&M AgriLife Research, joined forces in 2013 with the goal of restoring a large area of salt marsh wetlands.
