Trailblazer Innovation Award

Downtown Fort Worth, Inc.

The 2015 Trailblazer Innovation Award was given to Streams & Valleys for the Phyllis J. Tilley Memorial Pedestrian Bridge, for Project Daffodil and for its 45-year history of improving the areas around the Trinity River for public use in Fort Worth.

Freese and Nichols designed the signature bridge in partnership with noted bridge designers Rosales + Partners and Schlaich Bergermann and Partner. It is the first arch-supported stress ribbon bridge in the United States and is designed to withstand a 500-year flood. This is the seventh total award for the bridge.
