Alfred Vidaurri Becomes NCARB Secretary

Facilities Practice Leader Alfred Vidaurri was elected secretary of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB)​ this past summer at the organization’s annual business meeting.

NCARB, which is made up of the architectural licensing boards of 54 states and territories, develops and administers national programs for licensure candidates and architects.

Alfred, a longtime member of the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners, chaired the state organization from 2009 to 2015.

In service to his profession, Alfred has served on ​NCARB committees and task forces including the Audit, Broadly Experienced Architect (BEA), Education, Examination, Procedures and Documents, and Regional Leadership committees, as well as the Ethics Task Force.

He has also served as an NCARB visiting team representative for the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and at the NAAB Architectural Review Conference in 2013.

Through the BEA Program, Vidaurri represented NCARB in meetings with Canada and Mexico in advancing the Tri-National Mutual Recognition Agreement among the three countries.
