Freese and Nichols and Schrickel, Rollins and Associates (SRA) co-hosted a tour of the Midlothian Water Treatment Plant No. 2 last week for the North Central Texas Chapter of the American Water Works Association. The plant, which treats 6 million gallons of water per day, went online in August.

As a subconsultant to SRA, our team provided design services for the plant’s microfiltration membrane system, backwash waste disposal system, chemical feed system and an on-site hypochlorite generator system. Our team also led the process for the selection of a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), preparing all solicitation and contract documents and coordinating approval of the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB). This was the first CMAR water treatment plant project in Texas to be funded by the TWDB.
