Following the Money Trail
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) recently published a draft Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR) for the fiscal years 2014 and 2015. The LAR includes a request of $146.3 million to fund the Water Infrastructure Fund (WIF) to implement projects in the State Water Plan. The LAR also requests $19 million to fund the State Participation Program (SPP).
The LAR is simply a request for funding. Both the WIF and SPP loan programs require legislative authorization with a dedicated revenue stream in order to remain viable loan opportunities in the future.
