Hartt Joins Freese and Nichols' Transportation Team

Freese and Nichols is pleased to announce that Wayne Hartt, P.E., has joined our Frisco office to lead transportation efforts in Collin County and the surrounding area. Hartt joins our expanding team of more than 60 dedicated transportation professionals across Texas whose expertise in managing large infrastructure projects is paving the way for tomorrow’s growth.

“As our robust economy keeps attracting people to Texas, there is an even greater need for the Texas Department of Transportation and local governments to work with highly experienced, trusted partners to design and deploy infrastructure solutions,” said Bob Pence, President and CEO. “We’re prepared to help address these needs by adding talented engineers such as Wayne Hartt to our team. His broad skill set strengthens our capabilities and flexibility, making Freese and Nichols a valuable resource from initial planning stages through project completion.”

Throughout his 25-year career, Wayne has developed a broad range of business development, project management and technical capabilities that are uncommon in the transportation consulting community. He has led roadway, traffic engineering and drainage components for projects totaling more than $450 million. His notable projects include:

  • Interchange improvement for Interstate 20 at Midkiff Road in Midland
  • Development of frontage roads along Interstate 20 from State Highway 161 to Carrier Parkway in Grand Prairie
  • Six-lane widening project on Interstate 75 in Lee County, Fla.
  • Downtown rehabilitation and traffic calming on U.S. Highway 1 in Titusville, Fla.
  • Six-lane reconstruction of Santa Barbara Boulevard in Collier County, Fla.

Supplementing Wayne's broad range of capabilities is his deep knowledge about the processes and procedures related to working with transportation agencies. He acquired this experience through his consulting work with the Texas and Florida departments of transportation. Wayne is precertified by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in nine categories, bringing Freese and Nichols to more than 450 TxDOT precertifications in 61 categories held by 86 staff members.

Wayne earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
