North Carolina Receives FEMA Funding
The western portion of North Carolina recently received a Presidential Disaster Declaration as a result of the massive flooding in July 2013. The declared area includes Ashe, Avery, Catawba, Lincoln, Watauga, and Wilkes counties.
The North Carolina Division of Emergency Management (NCEM) is accepting Requests for Public Assistance (RPA) at this time. Eligible applicants include local governments, state agencies and nonprofit organizations located within the declaration area. The deadline for an applicant to submit a RPA is Nov. 28, 2013.
