Paving the Way for Progress

Freese and Nichols and the City of San Marcos hosted a neighborhood meeting for Hopkins Street improvements on Wednesday, July 29. We are helping the City gather public input about potential roadway improvements and identify drainage concerns in the watershed.

This is the first stage of a multi-step public outreach project led by the City, beginning the design process for the reconstruction of Hopkins Street between Moore Street to Bishop Street, as well as replacement of utilities and a watershed analysis for future drainage improvements.

The City, with the help of our design team, is implementing a complete street approach to the project design. The meeting included a  presentation about the intent of the project, an interactive polling session and a breakout tabletop session. Questions fielded by our team concerned roadway and drainage issues and design enhancement opportunities.
