Progress at Full Power

Construction on the Tarrant County College Energy Technology Center continues to run smoothly, with substantial completion scheduled for May 7. Freese and Nichols is the Architect of Record for the project.

The complex, which will be the largest facility on the campus, will provide a long-needed new home for the Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology (HART) program and house new associate degree programs in Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy. The building support systems will be used as teaching tools for these programs, so most systems and infrastructure are visible and color-coded.

The project is anticipated to achieve LEED® Platinum Certification; the major structural work is complete and installation of the building systems and finishes are progressing, with landscaping and site work to begin in early spring. TCC plans to open the center for classes in August 2015.
