Texas Water Development Board Seeking Input on State Flood Assessment

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is developing a State Flood Assessment and is soliciting feedback from communities on flood mitigation to compile this first-ever comprehensive report on flooding in Texas.

The goals of the State Flood Assessment include:

  1. Assessing flood risks
  2. Estimating flood mitigation costs
  3. Gathering stakeholder input on how flood planning should proceed in the state

TWDB is requesting that stakeholders fill out a brief online survey about flood risk and mitigation in their communities. A PDF version of the survey questions is also available, and the survey should take no more than 20 minutes to complete.

The survey will close on April 30. To learn more about the State Flood Assessment effort please visit, or contact Mindy Conyers, State Flood Assessment Coordinator, at or at 512-463-5102.
