TxDOT Calls for Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Projects

The Texas Department of Transportation has posted a call for projects for the 2016 Highway Safety Improvements Program (HSIP). Approximately $155 million is anticipated to be available statewide for this program focusing primarily on improving safety and reducing severe accidents. Local governments are encouraged to submit applications and should contact their area or district office for more detail.

Freese and Nichols attended an informational meeting and is experienced in preparing this application for clients if you would like assistance. The deadline for this opportunity is June 3, but some districts require an earlier submittal of the packet for off-system projects (for example, Dallas and Fort Worth districts due May 20) with project selection taking place in September. For more information, view the Highway Safety Improvement Program Manual or the NCTCOG HSIP webpage.
