URISA Texas hosts Webinar on NRCS Custom Soils Databases Using ArcGIS Desktop

URISA Texas will host “Creating and Using Custom Soils Databases Using ArcGIS Desktop” from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 26.

Attendees will learn how to download large quantities of soil data, build gSSURGO databases for custom areas of interest and create soil maps for more than 160 soil properties using the Soil Data Development ArcToolbox, which was offered from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service.

This tool can be used to define custom areas of interest, such as states, watersheds, multi counties and even pipeline corridors.

Steve Peaslee, a GIS specialist for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, will demonstrate in real-time how to use these tools and answer any questions.

Brian King, of Freese and Nichols Austin and URISA Texas Vice President, will moderate. All disciplines are encouraged to tune in.

Those wanting to receive a PDH certificate for attending the webinar must register. To read more about the presentation and to register, click here.
