Brandon Gonzalez has been elected as the Young Planning Group representative to the North Central Texas American Planning Association (NCTAPA) Executive Board for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. Mr. Gonzalez served as Networking Coordinator for NCTAPA during the 2010-2011 fiscal year.

Wendy Shabay, Freese and Nichols Urban Planning Assistant Group Manager, was recently elected President of the Texas American Planning Association. Ms. Shabay will serve two years as President-Elect, two years as President and two years as Past President. This significant achievement will allow her to continue to take an active role in planning in the State.

We are proud to announce that Erica Craycraft and Shad Comeaux have passed the March 2011 AICP Exam. Congratulations to you both! With these two new additions, 70 percent of the Urban Planning group is now professionally certified. Planning group team member Cody Richardson has passed three of the five sections of the Landscape Architectural Registration Exam. He will take the final two sections of this extensive process in the coming months.

Freese and Nichols was a member of the Vision North Texas team working with a natural resources research team to develop the Vision North Texas plan providing input related to water quality, water supply and conservation, parks and open space planning, and stormwater quality. They also facilitated several regional planning sessions.
