The 2011 Zoning Ordinance for the City of Frisco received the Current Planning Award from the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association. The Urban Planning team of Daniel Harrison (PM), Dan Sefko and Erica Craycraft worked on updating the ordinance for Frisco.

The project team transformed the existing ordinance into a usable document that is easy to navigate and understand – including hyperlinks, illustrations, and clear tables for permitted land uses and development regulations. Freese and Nichols was a member of the Vision North Texas team working with a natural resources research team to develop the Vision North Texas plan providing input related to water quality, water supply and conservation, parks and open space planning, and stormwater quality. They also facilitated several regional planning sessions.
