Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County honored Freese and Nichols at a Volunteers Reception in April. Organizations and individuals who have volunteered for 10 or more years were recognized at the event. 

Freese and Nichols received special recognition for our 20th year of service. Chuck Easton, Water Resources Design; Amy Caster, Human Resources; and Christie Keeney, Marketing, Fort Worth, represented Freese and Nichols. A team of 27 employees, family and friends represented Freese and Nichols in the 20th annual Victory Over Violence 5k and 1k Walk/Run in Fort Worth's Trinity Park on Saturday, April 9. Freese and Nichols is a Red Ribbon sponsor of the event, which benefits anti-violence programs of The Women's Center of Tarrant County.

Don James, Water Resources Design, Fort Worth, presented about the Rock Cycle to 263 sixth graders in eight classes at Wedgwood Sixth Grade School last month. Don covered the main geological concepts and the group responded with lots of questions. 

During the presentation, Don passed around his 36-year-old rock collection. He discussed and presented examples of the three rock types -- sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic -- where they can be found in Texas, and some of their significant uses. In February and March, Fort Worth employees made donations to The Women's Center of Tarrant County. In an effort overseen by Administrative Assistant Melody Allen, we supplied The Women's Center with:

  • 118 teddy bears
  • 281 individual snack packages
  • 11 bags of hard candies
  • 11 sacks of bubble gum
  • 10 packages of baby wipes
  • ​686 diapers of various sizes
