Don James, Water Resources Design, Fort Worth, presented a Geologic Overview at the Fort Worth Nature Center this spring. The afternoon event drew close to 30 participants, who listened to Don’s presentation and joined him for a short walk outside as Don pointed out geological contacts, formations, and earthen processes that form the Center's unique and beautiful setting.

Earlier this spring, employees from our Austin office participated in Clean Sweep, a citywide service day hosted by Keep Austin Beautiful. Chief Marketing Officer Mike Nichols; Will Huff, Stormwater; Tom Dixon and Patrick Garnett, Environmental Science; and Patrick's son, Tucker, donated their time to clean up Great Hills Park. This is the second year our Central Region has taken part in this event, and one of many creek cleanups in which they have participated.

Almost 40 of our employees, family and friends participated in the 19th annual Victory Over Violence 5k and 1k Walk/Run in Fort Worth's Trinity Park on Saturday, April 12. Freese and Nichols is a Red Ribbon sponsor for the race, which benefits anti-violence programs of The Women's Center of Tarrant County.

Employees from the Dallas office volunteered their time on Valentine's Day to frame a new house in South Dallas with Habitat for Humanity. Katie Hogan, Andrew Boyle, Robert Thompson, Brandon Gonzalez, Rick Rudin, Sam Meisner, and Trey Shanks worked side by side with Sandra, the prospective homeowner, to construct the interior and exterior walls of the house in one day.
