Drought conditions marginally expanded across the United States this week. The nationwide Drought Severity and Coverage Index (DSCI) increased from 40 to 41, as the percent coverage of D0, D2 and D3 conditions increased, while D1 conditions slightly constricted. Over this past week, winter storms caused above normal precipitation in areas of the Southwest, northern High Plains, southern Great Plains and Tennessee Valley.
