Drought conditions still cover less than half of the United States with many states remaining completely drought free. The most severe drought conditions are located in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. Remnants of tropical storms brought some needed rain to the Southwest. Heavy rain also occurred from Montana to Wisconsin. Temperatures were at or ​above average for most of the country, with some areas of the Plains in the triple-digits.
