Engineering Excellence Silver Award
American Council of Engineering Companies of Texas
The Central Wastewater Treatment Plant Influent Pump Station won a Silver Medal in the Water and Wastewater category in the 2015 Engineering Excellence Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Texas.
The project began in January 2005 with a study/pre-design contract, continued with design and construction phase contracts, and has now surpassed nine years as a Freese and Nichols project. Installation of the first VTSH pump began on Feb. 19, and all six pumps and associated motors are now installed. Two slots remain open for future pumps. The influent pump station will offer an initial firm pumping capacity of 335 millions of gallons a day (MGD), with buildout reaching a firm pumping capacity of 425 MGD.
