FEMA Announces $40M Increase in Pre-Disaster Mitigation Funding
FEMA announced an increase in available funding for the FY 2014 Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) program. The amount available across the nation has increased from $23 million to $63 million. There are no other changes to the program.
In Texas, the PDM program can be used for acquisition/demolition, structure elevation, dry flood-proofing, localized flood reduction projects and new/updated Hazard Mitigation Action Plans (HMAPs). Applications for the PDM grant in Texas must be submitted via eGrants by June 30, 2014.
In North Carolina, letters of interest were due to the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management (NCEM) by May 28, 2014.
