Harrison, Irby Present to Packed Classroom at UTA
Daniel Harrison and Chelsea Irby, both Urban Planning and Design, Dallas, presented at the Student Planning Association (SPA) meeting on Wednesday, April 1, at the University of Texas at Arlington. They shared some of their work experience as urban planners at Freese and Nichols.
Chelsea, President of the SPA, felt they could help teach students in the City & Regional Planning program about the type of work entry-level city planners will be required to do. “Daniel and I do development review services for Corinth, Crandall, DeSoto, and Celina,” Chelsea said. “We used examples from Corinth to give the students a crash course in development review.”
Typically seeing 15 people attend the monthly meetings, this SPA presentation attracted close to 40, with standing room only. Chelsea said the presentation received a lot of positive feedback from students and professors.
