Meet Alan Hendrix

John Dewar

Freese and Nichols welcomes Alan Hendrix, P.E., as manager of the Dallas team in our North Texas transportation group. In his 28 years with the City of Dallas Public Works and other organizations, Alan has demonstrated exceptional talent and produced an extraordinary record for directing and managing transportation projects and programs.

Noteworthy Achievements

As Assistant Director of Dallas Public Works, Alan managed engineering, construction, survey services and delivery of the street and transportation components for the City’s 2006 and 2012 transportation bond programs. Together, these programs comprised more than 1,000 separate projects with a total value of more than $600 million.

Also notable is Alan’s management of the City’s Cockrell Hill Boulevard at Interstate 30 project, cited by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) for its sustainable development initiatives. Before the project began, the total land and improvement value of the area fell just under $5 million. The project’s roadway improvements opened up more than 1,000 acres of North Oak Cliff and West Dallas for redevelopment, bringing total land and improvement value of the area to more than $200 million.

Alan has worked extensively in cooperation with local transportation agencies. Through his work, the City of Dallas leveraged more than $300 million in outside agency funding for transportation projects. Alan also served on the team responsible for reconstruction of the City’s North Central Expressway.

Alan brings a wealth of knowledge and management experience to our team and will be instrumental in meeting complex, challenging transportation needs. Please join us in welcoming him to Freese and Nichols!
