Nov. 16 Seminar | The Reality of Earthquakes: What you need to know for municipal infrastructure
Join the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and Freese and Nichols on November 16, 2016 for “The Reality of Earthquakes: What You Need to Know For Municipal Infrastructure.”
While the 5.8-magnitude earthquake which occurred on September 3rd was dubbed the largest in Oklahoma’s history, the continued rumblings of induced earthquakes have certainly grabbed our attention. Earthquakes can have serious effects on municipal infrastructure and it is important that we are prepared to face and address those effects.
Join us to hear state officials and industry professionals discuss seismicity in Oklahoma, evaluating safety of existing municipal infrastructure, designing new infrastructure to withstand earthquakes and communicating safety efforts to the public. Experts will also conduct an interactive panel discussion involving audience participation. Be prepared to ask questions and engage in conversation.
