While working on Tyler's comprehensive plan, Freese and Nichols completed a corridor study of South Broadway (US 69) from Loop 323 to the southern city limits. The study recommended implementation of signal improvements, including the use of an Adaptive Signal Control System, as well as geometric improvements to many of the intersections.
The City hired FNI to implement both recommendations. This project includes geometric modifications to six intersections along US 69 and three on a parallel street. Improvements include adding right- and left-turn lanes to facilitate traffic movements. The project involves significant coordination with TxDOT.
