Treatment Solutions Include Security Evaluation and Safer Technology
Freese and Nichols provided preliminary design engineering services for modifications to Trinity River Authority’s Central Regional Wastewater System (CRWS) Treatment Plant. The preliminary design includes uprating of plant flow to 189 MGD of average daily flow and to 623 MGD of peak flow. In addition, the project included a security threat risk evaluation and an alternative disinfection analysis for selection of inherently safer technology (IST).
The project included a biological nutrient removal feasibility study, which consisted of evaluating existing aeration facilities for potential anoxic zone use to reduce blower and energy requirements while maintaining required effluent limits.
