Freese and Nichols provided full architectural, planning, structural MEP, civil, environmental and construction phase services for a new 55,000-square-foot, $9 million technology center with planetarium for Central Texas College. The two-story facility houses a state-of-the-art planetarium and a 60-foot, 150-seat domed theater - one of the largest of its kind in Texas. The technology center houses multimedia classrooms, conference rooms, labs and 32 faculty/staff offices.
Freese and Nichols used 3-D renderings to display the design of the complex. This project received the Louis I. Kahn Citation American School & University Magazine in 2003.
