Freese and Nichols is providing program management services for development of the new Mickey Leland Intercontinental Terminal (MLIT) at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The project includes an 810,000-square-foot airport terminal replacement and expansion of the existing Terminal D. The new MLIT will expand capacity and provide desired passenger amenities and experience found in a world-class international terminal. George Bush Intercontinental Airport is the 8th busiest airport hub in the United States.
MLIT will replace both existing Terminal C North Pier and the entire existing Terminal D facility with a new consolidated terminal building consisting of four levels. The terminal will have 12 wide-body gates including two gates for Group VI (A380 aircraft), primarily on two double-loaded pier concourses. These gates will also accommodate 26 narrow-body aircraft in alternative configurations.
