Freese and Nichols provided design and construction services for a three-phase, $4.1-million rehabilitation of an 80-year-old flood control dam located near downtown San Antonio. Freese and Nichols was responsible for evaluating existing conditions, reviewing alternatives, performing final design of the selected alternative and providing construction phase services.
As part of the project, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses were performed to determine the hydraulic capacity and breach impact of the dam. The rehabilitation included the installation of 68 multi-strand post-tensioned tendon anchors.
Freese and Nichols provided resident representation services for the rehabilitation and oversaw construction inspection and contract administration.
