The River Legacy Park Trail project is a 0.5-mile trail that makes a vital connection between City of Arlington and City of Fort Worth. This trail provides access to surrounding neighborhoods and park users. The trail is located in an environmentally sensitive area and features large oak and elm trees. The trail is located within the floodway of the Trinity River and features multiple low-water crossings, two pedestrian bridge crossings over tributaries, and trail markers. In order to preserve the banks of the existing tributaries, the bridges were set further away from the top of bank and feature stone riprap beneath the bridges to help prevent erosion.
Due to the trail being located in an environmentally sensitive area, the design team analyzed and surveyed the site for archaeological, biological, and historically sensitive areas and routed the trail around the sensitive areas to help preserve nature.
