Freese and Nichols’ initial services for the perimeter taxiway system began in the middle to latter part of the 1990s. Freese and Nichols’ services as part of a multi-consultant team continued into 2004 with schematic design of the DFW Perimeter Taxiway System.
As sub to Brown & Root, Inc., Freese and Nichols provided design services for the southeast perimeter taxiway system, the first of four quadrants including associated roadways and drainage systems. At the south end of the southeast runways, three new taxiways will be extended southward 2,560 feet and will be connected with an east-west taxiway that provides a large end-around taxi path. Additionally, FNI participated in Phase 3 construction management services.
