Freese and Nichols designed roadway and utility improvements for Turtle Creek Boulevard, between Levee Street and Market Center Boulevard for the City of Dallas. Improvements included replacing existing roadway with new concrete streets and curb and gutter drainage, and replacing water and sanitary sewer lines within the project’s limits.
The roadway section between Irving Boulevard and Market Center next to Turtle Creek was designed to accommodate a pedestrian trail planned by the "Friends of the Old Trinity Trail" for future construction. Freese and Nichols' landscape design subconsultant, Caye Cook and Associates, integrated the trail concepts into our roadway work to create a win-win for the City of Dallas.
This project involved extensive public input, which resulted in numerous options and schematics. Freese and Nichols worked closely with the City to keep the project on schedule and within budget during design.
