David Sloan, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Fort Worth, was selected by WateReuse Texas as a recipient of the 2016 Ed Archuleta Award.

The award recognizes those who have made outstanding contributions in the field of water reuse within the State of Texas through the significant advancement of reuse, and who have demonstrated leadership in the reuse field. David received the award at the 6th Annual Water Reuse In Texas Conference in San Marcos. David’s nomination is notable for the support it received from professionals outside Freese and Nichols.

WE&T, the magazine of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), published a paper about a Freese and Nichols project in its June issue. “Coarse screens open doors to better wet weather management ” is co-authored by Erin Flanagan, Water/Wastewater Treatment, Dallas; Jason Cocklin, Treatment, Transmission and Utilities, Corpus Christi; and Regina Stencel of the City of Dallas. Their paper discusses the new Influent Pump Station at the Dallas Central Wastewater Treatment Plant, which houses some of the highest-capacity coarse screens in the country. Read the full paper on the WE&T website; a WEF membership login is required.
