City of Frisco Reuse Project Wins Two Awards

May 10, 2018

Congratulations to the City of Frisco and the Stewart Creek Reuse Pipeline team on their conservation and reuse awards from the Texas Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

The City received the Large Utility Direct Reuse Award and the Bob Derrington Reclamation Award — the highest recognition awarded by the Texas Section AWWA — at the Texas Water conference in April.

Engineers estimated that The Star, a 91-acre public-private campus that is home to the Dallas Cowboys headquarters, would need 15 million gallons of water to irrigate its practice fields. To help ease the burden on the potable water system, all parties agreed to use reuse water for irrigation purposes.

Freese and Nichols offered hydraulic modeling, design and construction services on the pipeline project, which delivers reuse water to The Star.
