Revival on Rosedale
Fort Worth’s historic Polytechnic neighborhood hadn’t seen major roadway construction since the 1930s, so the reconstruction of the East Rosedale corridor quickly became a high-profile project. The City and Freese and Nichols took the opportunity to make it a guiding example of improved project delivery that incorporates local stakeholders. Looking through the lenses of the Envision™ Sustainable Infrastructure Rating System, the team collaborated to develop a walkable corridor that honors the priorities of the neighborhood and showcases its rich history. The new East Rosedale features two multilane roundabouts; a new storm drainage system; and streetscape enhancements that preserved 70-year-old trees along the road.
