Tarrant County College will celebrate its new Center of Excellence for Energy Technology (CEET) with a grand opening ceremony Friday, Sept. 25, including a tour to showcase the $42 million sustainable learning and training facility. The ceremony, Power Generation: Fueling the Future will include the installation of an NRG Street Charge® station, complete with mobile device charge cables.

The 87,000-square-foot center is the largest of its kind in the United States and is designed to achieve LEED Gold status. The project team outlined a stretch goal to achieve a LEED Platinum certification.

The CEET offers Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology (HART) Programs, and most systems and infrastructure are visible and color-coded for use as teaching tools.

Freese and Nichols is the architect of record for the project, and President and CEO Bob Pence will make remarks at the ceremony, starting at 2 p.m.
