SWIFT Application Period Open December 1

Jennifer Wasinger

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) announced that it will open the application period for the 2017 funding cycle of the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas (SWIFT) program on December 1. Entities may submit applications until February 3, 2017 using TWDB’s abridged online application or by paper-copy.

As a reminder, to be eligible for SWIFT funding, projects must be included in the 2017 State Water Plan.

TWDB anticipates being able to fund an additional $500 million in new applications. Potential 2017 modifications to SWIFT include a “subsidy level of up to 50 percent” for rural and agricultural projects and between “16 to 35 percent” for non-rural systems depending on the length of the loan and type of project.
