Trooper Smith, P.E., ENV SP, Group Manager of Freese and Nichols’ Central Division Treatment, Transmission and Utilities Group, has moved to our San Antonio office to extend our water and wastewater services in the San Antonio and coastal regions.

His award-winning work includes leading the team that designed the largest Return Activated Sludge (RAS) Vertical Turbine Solids Handling pumping application in the United States. The project, for Trinity River Authority, received a gold Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Texas in 2010.

Trooper and his family live in the heart of San Antonio, where they participate in several community events, such as the annual Basura Bash and Keep Pets Alive. Trooper is also an active leader in professional organizations, particularly the Water Environment Association of Texas, where he recently completed a two-year assignment as the Texas Water Conference Program Chair and has previously served in numerous leadership positions.
