The President has declared a federal disaster (DR-4159) for Texas as a result of the Halloween flood that occurred in Central Texas. The Presidential Disaster Declaration makes federal funding available to the state of Texas and its local governments through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). 

HMGP funding can be used for flood reduction projects, property acquisition (buyouts), structure elevation, dry flood-proofing, and development of or updates to Hazard Mitigation Action Plans (HMAPs).
