The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is offering five programs, together forming the Local Park Grant Program, to assist local units of government (cities, counties, river authorities, municipal utility districts and other special districts) with the acquisition and/or development of public recreation areas and facilities. The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) published a Notice of Funding Availability for the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant program. This grant program is providing $500 million in funding for transportation projects that have a significant impact on the nation, a metropolitan area or region. Projects can include highways, bridges, public transit, rail intermodal facilities, and marine and port investments.

The EPA recently released the 2012 Clean Water Needs survey showing that $271 billion is needed to maintain and improve the nation’s wastewater infrastructure, including pipes to treatment plants, treatment technology and stormwater runoff methods.
