Wolfhope Named USSD President

Congratulations to John Wolfhope, P.E., has been selected as the United States Society on Dams (USSD) 2015-2016 President. John and the other board members were sworn in at the USSD Annual Meeting and Conference in Louisville, KY.

"John is a leader in dam safety policy nationwide and has been an outstanding leader for our firm," said Ron Lemons, COO of Freese and Nichols and past USSD President. "We're thrilled that his continued commitment to the industry has been recognized by his peers."

John has followed Ron's lead in serving as USSD President and in leadership positions on numerous dam safety boards and advisory committees, including the National Dam Safety Review Board. He has been very active on the board of directors and executive management team of USSD and serves on the technical advisory team to update the Federal Dam Safety Guidelines. He has also been active in the International Committee on Large Dams and served as the U.S. voting representative at the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) 25th Congress June 13-20 in Stavanger, Norway.

John joined Freese and Nichols in 1997 and is based in Austin as a Division Manager and Principal. He has managed the design, assessment, and rehabilitation of more than 30 major dams and reservoirs, and has been involved in more than 100 dam inspections.
