Xi Zhao Joins Southeast Texas Water/Wastewater Treatment Team
Please welcome Xi Zhao, PE, who has joined our Houston office and will further expand and grow our water and wastewater treatment capabilities in the Southeast.
Xi has over 10 years’ experience working on municipal, industrial, national and international projects across the United States, China, Canada, Israel, Australia and Chile, including one of the largest seawater desalination projects in the western hemisphere.
Xi has a strong background in water treatment process design, treatment optimization, bench and pilot studies, plant operational assessment and procurement management.
“Her expertise in the detailed and highly technical aspect of water treatment process selection and design will allow us to better assist clients in optimizing and expanding their existing water treatment infrastructurre,” said David Munn, Water/Wastewater Treatment Southeast Group Manager.
In addition to conventional water treatment, Xi brings career expertise focused in membrane treatment, including desalination solutions for seawater and brackish water treatment. This expertise will strengthen the skillset and expand the services we are providing clients in the area of alternative water supply. The unique perspective Xi brings to alternative water supply planning was honed during her years working for a global water consulting firm and her work for an innovative desalination equipment manufacturer.
Xi will focus on drinking water and wastewater treatment design as well as helping to develop technical strength in others through mentoring. She’s currently helping with the design of the Midlothian surface water plant expansion as the membrane process lead.
Xi is licensed as a Professional Engineer in New Mexico and is in the process to get licensed in Texas. She has an MBA, master’s and bachelor’s degrees of Environmental Engineering from University of Kansas, North Carolina State University and Beihang University, respectively, and has been published both nationally and internationally.
